Egyptian laws like this are one reason why allowing people to leave countries to move to places more in line with their beliefs should be allowed and encouraged. As backwards a view as I personally think it shows, and as much as I would like to see that behaviour change, I doubt it will until that generation is gone.

You didn’t show the full story for the Egypt one , she’s worn a very showy dress in the past and her but was almost all shown, if you see the black dress from the back it’s as if she is wearing swimwear with a transparent layer over, so get your facts straight or don’t talk about it at all. The fact that she will face 5 years isn’t true well the charges have been dropped.

We do pay near that in gas prices. The only difference is we only see the "price-at-pump" and ignore or don't pay attention to how much of our tax money (US) goes to oil subsidies. If the US stopped oil subsidies we'd see similar gas prices.

DEAR WOMEN! next time you hear another woman denounce or vilify feminism, remember Rania Youssef, a grown ass woman facing jail time for her choice of clothing.
I know feminazi’s have misappropriated feminist values but it is so special when women stand up for other women, because there is history there.

  • Wet Moth
Wet Moth 2 kuukautta sitten +1

It really sucks that western feminism has essentially become a weapon in which to silence each other. It’s so clear that other woman around the world need feminism and don’t have access to it. and this first story serves as a comparison for how far western feminism has come and I think it’s our responsibility to at least try to help. Tbh I really don’t know how to help, but maybe we start by just talking about it.

I think it's just a bit sad that someone who has worked his way up from nothing will be defeated by a company that comes from outside the platform. It almost feels a bit like old FIclips v. what FIclips is becoming, and even the people that don't really care for Felix's content will root for him because they're seeing talk shows in the featured section when it used to be home videos and weird, creative stuff made by people like them.

It's so funny that only Rania got this much attention when other skinnier actresses wore similar dress styles, like salma abu deif for exmaple, and got no hate and no one talk about it. I think this is just because Rania got memed a lot in egyptian reddits, forums, facebook & twitter and the attention from those memes lead to all that happening. However, people really could care less, since girls in Egypt wear "revealing" clothes all the time in higher class areas.

My opinion is that if another culture does things you don’t agree with that is fine. You can share your opinion. But you’re not free to take action to change their culture. That is just some narcissistic arrogance. Acting like the opinions and morals of you and your culture are superior and should be adopted by all.
Imho the whoring that is getting more and more popular should be ground to a halt. Even if it means prosecuting all those women.

you gotta understand that Egypt is a Muslim country . wich means over 99.9% of Egyptians are Muslim . and being seen half naked is a sin . not a normal dress . u see it normal because you are from different culture . so when actors and singers do stuff that go against the whole country believes the court have no choice but to do something about it . if if she didn't get a proper punishment the people of egypt will get angry at there government as they want a muslim government not a feminist one . but i blame the egypt government too for having harsh punishment for minor things like that .

Bonjour !

Reporting from Europe: French rural roads all the way from Paris to Marseilles have been going strong with protesters, impressively keeping its momentum strong through out the past three weeks. However one should keep in mind that strikes, rioting and protesting has been an integral part of the French “culture” since the lynching of their own Royal Family.

To pierce straight to the actual point of the comment, it’s important to not make generalizations over groups of people. Individual Muslims are not exact clones of each other so different ones will bring a different culture. There’s no need to have a blockade against all Muslims as that information is able to be parsed. Mass immigration is an entirely other matter, of course, but that’s not the only thing your comment entails as incorrect.
